Set Goals with Visual References

Goal sheets are written descriptions of your future and in this post you will learn 4 easy steps to goal setting. Goal Sheets are personal and unique to each person. They are very important because they serve as a daily reminder to apply the power of your mind and thoughts to your life.  Let’s face it. We’re human, and because we’re human, our memories, priorities, and focus are influenced by daily events and activities. We live busy lives, full of surprise and change. So unless we are superhuman in our commitment to a goal, we are likely to lose our focus and become caught up in negative thoughts.

Writing down your goals in a visually appealing way helps you maintain a positive mindset and stay focused on what you want. Your goal sheet is like a cheat sheet in applying the power of thought because it keeps you in the mindset of already having what you desire. Make sure you use this tool!

Make it a Fun Game – 4 Steps to Goal Setting

Creating your goal sheet is a very fun part of the process. There are no rules or constraints when it comes to this, primarily because the goals are personal and unique to you. It’s your future, so your goal sheet should look like you created it.

  1. Design your first goal sheet and have fun! Draw what will make you happy to see.
  2. Before you begin, get the piece of paper and write down a list of things you’d like in your life.
  3. Take the list and decide which ones you want first – Pick two to three to start
  4. Now you are ready to write it all down and get ready for life to change.

Examples of what real goal sheets look like:

Example 1.
This goal sheet was created using different colored pens and a legal size memo pad.

Legal Size Paper

Example 2.
This goal sheet was created using a colorful, pocket sized pad and marker combination purchased at a grocery store. Notice how different these goal sheets look. That’s a good thing! This means that their creators were really tapping into their creative potential to depict their futures in a way that would be personally meaningful.

These goal sheets all share a few common characteristics.

1. personalized
2. realistic
3. visually appealing
4. colorful
5. specific

You want to ensure that your goal sheet shares these characteristics as well. Now that you’ve seen a few example goal sheets, it’s time to create your own so get to it!

Make sure that the contents of your list are realistic. Remember that the goals you set should feel attainable. For example, if you are writing on your goal sheet that you want to win the super bowl, you had better be a football player in the NFL.

As we discussed earlier in the book, it is a good idea to begin by asking for something small while you’re building your skills. So, if one of your goals to is to have a certain amount of money, ask for unexpected income totaling $5,000.00, $25,000.00, or $100,000.00 for starters. Use whichever figure feels the best to you.

  • You should be focused on the things that mean most to you. If that’s time with your family, better health, more confidence in your appearance, or anything else, that’s what should appear on your goal sheet.
  • You can even ask for certain experiences you want to have, such as a tropical vacation or a promotion at work.
  • You can ask for anything, and using the information provided in this book, you can have it. Before moving on, you should have created a goal sheet that has all five of the characteristics listed above. It should be  personalized, realistic, visually appealing, colorful, and specific.

Use what you’ve learned throughout the blog on Millionaire MindSet and the process of meeting your goals. If you can see and feel yourself in possession of what’s on your goal sheet, it will be yours. Your next step is to hang your goal sheet somewhere you will see it every day.

Remember that writing down your goals and placing them in your surroundings helps you stay focused on using your thoughts and feelings in a way that changes your world right before your eyes. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come home after a long day of work, tired and distracted, only to see my goal sheet in my home. It has a way of empowering and keeping me on  track. It keeps me in the positive mind set.

To your success and tomorrow we post our goals that we are going to achive with the Secret Experiment.
